finally! new layouts

New month, new designers to work with at Polka Dot Plum! Here are a couple of layouts I’ve done so far:

This one used Utski Designs’ gorgeous Aqua Marine kit. Seriously, there was so much goodness in this kit I had to restrain myself from putting it all on the page.

I used NBK Designs’ Swirly kit for this — j’adore! The swirly letters, the colors… serious restraint here again.

grace

My first layout for Polka Dot Plum uses the gorgeous Grace kit from Polka Dot Plum Designs. The elements and colors are fantastic and I loved how they worked with this picture of Emma trying to stuff her entire fist into her mouth. Emma’s nursery colors were purple and green, and so I see this set getting a lot of mileage.

It was so much fun getting a chance to use the awesome products from Amy and Lauren, and I’m so stoked to have this opportunity.

thursday’s page — and news!

Exciting stuff to announce — I was selected to be a member of Polka Dot Plum‘s Creative Team! Now, being a total noob not only to digiscrapping but also to creative teams and such, I’m hoping to make as few blunders as possible.

I thought, in light of today’s news, I would highlight some awesome freebies available through Polka Dot Plum’s Collabracadabra blog train for August. I used Kami’s Grannie’s Attic alpha and Love Story mini kit to scrap this picture of me and Fred from one of our act-like-tourists days when we lived in DC.

This was one of my first dig layouts, and I had some issues with masking. I still really like the colors and the titling, and the pictures are awesome.

Making this book for Emma… I’ve gone back and looked at so many pictures and can’t believe the baby that once fit in my husband’s hand is now 4 going on 14.

I’m creating a book for Emma’s fifth birthday, all out of 12×12 layouts. They’re all out of order with no consistent color scheme, mostly because I’m just having fun playing and learning as I go.

When I saw this kit (Owl Tree Studios Beach Breeze), I knew it would be perfect for our (only, so far) trip to the beach from last summer. I loved how, even though it’s a lake, if you look straight out at the water, you can imagine you’re staring into an ocean. We haven’t been able to visit the beach at all this summer — our schedules have been insane. But August looks like our month…
